What do I bring on a long-haul flight?

Can you think of anything more exhausting than long-haul travel? Yeah, me either. But I've picked up a few items over the years that really help, whether flying economy or premium. As much as I want to pack lightly, these comfort items always have a place in my bag.
Trtl – This is the only flight pillow that works for me. The Trtl really supports my neck and head with its reinforced frame, and I love wrapping it high to help block light from my eyes — I may look funny, but I sleep! And somehow, even covered like this, I don't overheat. It's also machine washable. My husband and I are trying this out for our next trip... I will report back if I have a new favorite!

Flykitt – Marissa discovered Flykitt and it is wonderful! It helps with jet lag and getting on your vacation routine. I don't travel without it, and I even have my husband on board now. Let's just say I went from immediately crashing at my destination to staying up till midnight sightseeing after a transatlantic red-eye. They have a first order discount and run sales often.
Compression Socks – No-one wants to start vacation with swollen feet … or even worse dealing with a blood clot and DVT! I really like these ones that keep my feet dry and odorless too.
Headphones – I prefer over-ear headphones because I use Earplanes to help with my ear pressure. These fit my smallish head well and cancel out annoying airplane sounds.
iPad and/or Kindle – One of my tips for managing fear of flying is to keep busy with light activities, so I always load up some fun reading on my Kindle Paperwhite and download videos to my iPad. Yes, I can watch on the seat back system, but I don't want to chance having that one seat that isn't working, or having the system crash. I keep some music downloaded on my phone too.
Power bank and charging cords – There's a chance my seat-back charger will work, so I keep my charging cords handy. But I also bring a power bank just in case — it’s also great at my destination for using my phone on long sightseeing days, so I won't regret bringing it.
Water Bottle –The Larq filtered bottle is my favorite since I've gone to places where the drinking water is questionable. Might be more than you need for your trip, but having your own refillable water bottle is convenient and earth-friendly!
Toiletries – After a night in the air, a little freshening makes all the difference. I use Wisps as a temporary oral hygiene solution, carry face wipes, and make sure to moisturize!
With these items in your personal bag, you may even enjoy your next flight! Happy travels!!!
Do you have any must-have items for long flights? I'm always hunting for new ways to make the experience pleasant, so please share!
